Georgian Dream’s Conference Failed in Vani

February 11, 2013

On February 9, establishment session of the Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia failed in Vani because of controversy. Part of the Georgian Dream’s supporters did not allow Gela Bolkvadze, candidate for the position of the chairman of the local office, into the hall. They requested Bolkvadze to give them mandates to attend the conference.

MPs Zakaria Kutsnashvili and Davit Lortkipanidze from the parliamentary majority arrived in Vani to attend the conference. They tried to reach agreement between the parties during 2 hours but negotiations finished in failure.

“I would like to underline again that we are the government which takes the wish of the population into consideration. So, the conference will be held in Vani in accordance to the people’s desire and they will elect the chairman too,” said Kutsnashvili.
