On March 24, Georgian Mental Health Coalition (GMHC) awarded journalists winning the competition “How to improve service of mental health – development of psychosocial rehabilitation and mobile service.”
Article published on http://www.humanrights.ge/ won the nomination - best online publication and received first prize. The article was about employment of people with psychic problems (http://www.humanrights.ge/index.php?a=main&pid=15910&lang=eng).
The competition covered the period from July 25 to December 25 of 2012 and following topics: 1. advantages of services for psychic health outside hospital; 2. purpose of psycho-social rehabilitation; 3. perspectives of the mobile service development (service provided at home) and 4. Successful story (examples of real lives of people with psychic problems).
Journalist Davit Abramishvili of the Rustavi 2 and journalist Ana Mezvrishvili of the Public Broadcaster were awarded for the best TV-stories.
Journalist Eka Kevanishvili of the Radio Freedom received prize for the best radio-story.
The winners received prize money and paintings of the painter Gela Jincharadze. The awarding ceremony took place in the exhibition hall of the Open Society – Georgia Foundation.
