Public Defender continues to examine the Lapankuri Special Operation case

In order to study Lapankuri Special Operation case Public Defender met with Chechen refugees and representatives of Chechen Diaspora throughout Europe who confirmed the accuracy of information provided in 2012 Parliamentary Report of Public Defender of Georgia.

In the meantime, various sources, including ex Military Officials also provided Public Defender with important information and confirmed facts on Lapanakuri Special Operation incorporated in the 2012 Parliamentary Report of Public Defender of Georgia.

According to the information provided by different independent sources the deployment, training and equipment of North-Caucasian military was conducted with the consent, participation and support of the Georgian Senior Military Officers.

Public Defender continues to study human rights violations during Lapankuri Special Operation and will make further information available to the public.
