Amnestied Prisoner Alleges Police Officer Threatens Him

May 29, 2013

Amnestied prisoner Dimitry Khaduri claims police inspector Mamuka Birtvelishvili threatens him with imprisonment; Khaduri left prison on January 30, 2013. Lawyer Tamar Tedliashvili informed Human Rights Center about it. She said police officer Birtvelishvili sends unclear messages to Dimitry Khaduri’s sister and former prisoner discovered them.

“I have nothing to hide. Somebody sent love message to my sister. I called him back and told to tell same words to his mother. I told him my name and address. They came by white jeep and threatened me with filling my house with drugs for having insulted the person. They also insulted me,” Dimitry Khaduri said.

Khaduri and his lawyer have already filed complaint to Shida Kartli regional prosecutor’s office regarding the incident. Khaduri was convicted for thievery and fabrication. He was released on January 30, 2013.
