Ucha Nanuashvili – MIA Breached Presumption of Innocence of Mikael Kadiev

June 19, 2013

MIA breached presumption of innocence of Mikael Kadiev- Public Defender Ucha Nanuashvili told Interpresnews. He said the MIA breached the presumption of innocence when they released initial statement on the arrest of Kadiev for the attempted terrorist act; later it was discovered that he was only accused of illicit storage of firearms and explosives.

The Ombudsman said he intends to meet Mikael Kadiev in Gldani Prison # 8. “I will meet Kadiev and learn information on the violations in his case, which he complains about,” Ucha Nanuashvili said.

On June 13, MIA spread information which stated that foreign citizens Mikael Kadiev and Rizvan Omarov were arrested for the attempted terrorist act; however, during imposing preventive measures on them, both persons were charged for the illicit storage of firearms and explosives.
