Bachana Akhalaia’s Case Discussion at the City Court

On July 27, court hearing on the case of Bachana Akhalaia, former defense minister of Georgia, was held at the Tbilisi City Court. In this episode, Akhalaia is accused of locking soldiers in the bathroom in Senaki military base, physical assault of soldiers in Vaziani brigade and illicit restriction of freedom of businessman Zviad Abesadze. Giorgi Kalandadze, Merab Kikabidze, Zurab Shamatava, Aleksandre Gorgadze, Gaga Mkurnalidze, Giorgi Kintsurashvili and Manuchar Daraselia are also accused in the same episode.

After the parties made final speeches, Judge Darakhvelidze postponed the court hearing. Supposedly, he will announce verdict at the next trial.
