Sergo Javakhadze Is Preparing for President’s Position

August 6, 2013

Shorena Kakabadze, Imereti

Chairman of the Movement for Just Georgia Sergo Javakhadze started preparation for the pre-election campaign in Kutaisi.

Head of the Imereti organization of the political party Gocha Badzgaradze told humanrights.ge that Sergo Javakhadze is the candidate without any alternatives.

“If pre-election campaign is implemented in normal environment without any incidents, Georgia will have the best president ever who extremely loves his country.”

He added that Sergo Javakhadze, who is chairman of the Political Movement for Just Georgia, will present his election program to media after he collects enough signatures for the participation in the election.

The process started in Kutaisi on August 2 and will eventually continue in every region of Georgia. Party members clarified that 10 000 signatures were already collected throughout Georgia.

Sergo Javakhadze became chairman of the Movement for Just Georgia in 2011 after the representatives of the party’s regional branches opposed former chairman Zurab Nogaideli for accumulated debts in the party; as a result Nogaideli was resigned from the position. One part of the political party’s members appealed to the Ministry of Justice and requested to allow them to register new board members of the Movement for Just Georgia in the Civil Registration Agency. Ministry of Justice satisfied their appeal and upheld the petition on changing the board members.
