Giorgi Margvelashvili: “On October 27 We Will Finish Cohabitation”

August 22, 2013

Mikheil Mamalashvili, Kakheti

Coalition Georgian Dream’s presidential candidate Giorgi Margvelashvili continues pre-election campaign. On October 21, he met populations of Vakiri, Tsnori and Signagi districts. Despite a heavy rain, residents of Vakiri village gathered in the school playground.

Minister of Agriculture Shalva Pipia and majoritarian MP from Signagi district Gela Gelashvili accompanies Giorgi Margvelashvili during his trip in Kakheti. The candidate spoke about challenges and future plans of the government. He said the government cares about farmers and this year price on grape will be the highest. He underlined that salaries of teachers increased and school text-books became free when he was minister of education.

After Vakiri meeting, Margvelashvili met population of Tsnori. He made a speech from the specially prepared stage.

The candidate spoke about the previous government. “Previous government convinced people that Georgian people are not civilized and are criminals. They wanted to change us and to make us believe that we are not modern people; that we do not understand Europe and America. The process, which we have been undergoing since parliamentary elections of 2012, is cohabitation. Everybody explains this term differently but I am not going to explain it now. I want to say one thing – on October 27, we will finish it together with Georgian people. No more obstacles will be created for people! Sabotage of the government will finish! Not only one person will speak about Georgia abroad!”

Giorgi Margvelashvili added that it is necessary for Georgian products to reach Russian market: “Serious process is going on with regard to Russian market. Part of local wine and mineral waters has already arrived there. We are working on other directions too. They tried to convince us that if we start trading with Russia, Europe and USA will give up cooperation with us. They also trade with Russia and why should they have abandoned us for that?!”

Presidential candidate of the Georgian Dream finished his meetings with Kakheti region population in Signagi on August 21; he tasted Kakhetian wine and then visited Bodbe Monastery.
