Humanrights.ge learned from Lanchkhuti DEC # 61 that Lanchkhuti district election commission has already registered 30 210 voters for October 27, 2013 Presidential Elections that is a bit more than for 2012 parliamentary elections (30 130 voters and only 22 113 of them participated in the elections).

Chairman of Lanchkhuti DEC Zviad Nakaidze told humanrights.ge that none of the political parties, who have nominated presidential candidates, has presented their representatives in the DEC.

“Competition for staffing the precinct election commissions was already announced and we will finish processing of submitted applications by September 11. A special secretariat was established which will serve interested citizens,” Nakaidze noted and added that more than 195 applications were submitted to the DEC so far.

According to Nakaidze, 13 members of the PECs will be elected through ballot. Journalists can get accreditations at the DEC where they will have opportunity to impartially cover all facts and developments.
