New Unit to Be Created in Lanchkhuti Municipal Board

At the Lanchkhuti municipal board session, fraction “Self-Government for Development” initiated an issue of creating one more editorial unit in the municipal board office. Two units already function in the office: organizational/public relation and protocol units.

A member of the aforementioned fraction Dali Kverenchkhiladze did not have information about the initiative of her fraction. As for the head of the office Nino Dzidziguri, she learned about the initiative in the last minutes of the previous working day.

“Considering the fact that two units already function in the municipal board’s office, besides that consultants work in each commission and fraction, and municipal board chairman also has an assistant, I think it is not justified to set up a new unit in the office,” Dzidziguri said.

Fraction chairman Revaz Chitidze said he was initiator and author of the project.

“I always stated that Lanchkhuti municipal board has excellent office personnel but our fraction decided that it would be better to set up a new unit for its better functioning,” Chitidze said.

Municipal board member Davit Tsuladze told humanrights.ge that creation of one more unit in the office will reduce the district budget.

“I have information that the unit was designed for concrete persons. There are two units in the office and if one more unit is created with its head and personnel in it, of course the budget will be reduced,” Tsuladze said.

Humanrights.ge contacted legal service of the district administration for the comment. Head of service Shota Chagunava said the fraction did not breach the regulations of the municipal board when initiating the project.
