“Our government, which cannot protect the country from the wires and fences on the administrative border and cannot gain lost territories back, shall at least raise the subsistence minimum and save people’s lives,” on September 30 presidential candidate Giorgi Targamadze made this statement during his meeting with electorate in Kutaisi.
When presenting its presidential program, Targamadze focused on social-economic situation in the country and underlined the necessity to raise the subsistence minimum up to 250 lari. The candidate spoke about the collection of signatures with the request to raise the subsistence minimum.
“Based on this 20 000 signatures, we will appeal to the Parliament of Georgia with the legislative initiative. We hope the legislative authority will accept this initiative and start working on it. This problem shall be immediately resolved,” Giorgi Targamadze said during the meeting and then went to the parliament and officially registered this initiative there.
