Bidzina Ivanishvili: “Ladies and Gentlemen, I assure you, the country will have the government Ilia Chavchavadze dreamt of”

October 11, 2013

Mikheil Mamalashvili, Kakheti

“We must not forget that we live in the homeland of Ilia Chavchavadze. I assure you that you will have the government, Ilia dreamt of and all his and out ancestors’ dreams will come true. We will restore our dignity and succeed to make every next year better than previous. The next year will be better and real economic development will start in Georgia,” Bidzina Ivanishvili addressed to the people gathered in Telavi.

He spoke about the past year achievements after the shift of the government. Prime-Minister underlined that after resignation, he will stay in service of the Georgian people. “I am not going anywhere; I am coming to join you to control the government and learn how to build the country.”

The PM also stated that former senior officials, who were ideologists of the law violations, will be held responsible before the country and people. “We should acknowledge that members of the United National Movement are also citizens of Georgia like we are. We should be able to forgive others but main ideologists, harassers and abusers shall be held responsible.”

Ivanishvili introduced presidential candidate of the Coalition Georgian Dream Giorgi Margvelashvili to the audience. Margvelashvili spoke about vintage and called upon the people to go to elections. “There has never been similar vintage in Kakheti before; both wine-factories and farmers have never been satisfied with the process. It never happened before because previous government did not aim to strengthen agriculture. They tried to convince us that nobody needs us in Europe unless we are radically opposed to Russia; they tried to convince us that Georgian people will be more respected if we scold Russia. Now we see that it was not true. Our European colleagues need us like we are with our particular culture, music, manner and traditions.”

Margvelashvili said on October 27 Georgian population shall pass judgment on debauchery of the last nine years. “It should not be victory only with percents, but it should be a judgment for the debauchery that reigned in the country for the last years. I want you to trust me as Bidzina Ivanishvili and Coalition trusted me. I will never be a president sitting only in the office and looking at the ongoing events from there. I will permanently come back, will stay and think with you.”

After Giorgi Margvelashvili’s speech, actor Givi Berikashvili also addressed to Telavi residents and showed his support to the Georgian Dream.
