Election Posters Destroyed in Gardabani

October 22, 2013

One can hardly find an election poster of the presidential candidates in Gardabani center, where faces and election number of the candidates are not damaged. Posters of both Georgian Dream and United National Movement are destroyed.

Representatives of Davit Bakradze’s election office said Georgian Dream puts up Margvelashvili’s posters over their posters: “I personally saw that Georgian Dream’sactivists were putting up Margvelashvili’s posters over our posters in the vicinities of our office,” Madona Ozmanyan from the UNM said.

Georgian Dream’s Gardabani office denies accusations and blame Bakradze’s office in destroying Margvelashvili’s posters.

“You can travel to Norio village in Gardabani village and see number 5 written on our billboards. In order to make the agitation materials useful for our campaign, we put up Margvelashvili’s small posters over those figure. As for Gardabani, we use to put up posters and several hours later they are removed. I do not claim that UNM members destroy them, but it is reality,” Kakha Banetishvili, chairman of the youth branch of GD’s Gardabani office.
