Editor of Information Center of Kakheti Applies to Prosecutor’s Office

On October 28 Gela Mtivlishvili, Editor of the Information Center of Kakheti lodged a written application to Gurjaani regional Prosecutor’s Office to initiate proceeding over illegal interference into his professional activity.

Information Center of Kakheti reported that on the October 27 presidential election day the editor was restricted to conduct filming at polling station #16 in Chikaani. Being verbally abused he was expelled from the precinct. In regard to the incident the organization has published a video on its website (www.ick.ge).

Reporting to Media.Ge Gela Mtivlishvili said there was no need for him to apply to the Prosecutor’s Office. According to applicable constitutional legislation the Prosecutor’s Office was responsible to launch investigation following the signs of misdemeanor.
