Chairperson of the Gori office of the Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association presented their final report on Presidential Elections to journalists and nongovernmental organizations. Ketevan Bebiashvili of GYLA clarified that polling process was carried out in peaceful environment, but with minor violations, on the Election Day like in the pre-election period. According to Bebiashvili, one of the violations was observed in the selection of PEC members by the DEC; in Gori, they found out that 70 commission members represented political parties that contradicted the law.

“Gori DEC selected 70 PEC members, who were representatives of political parties. On the Election Day we monitored polling process, filed complaints on the observed violations; in some cases, when irregularities were detected with regard to final protocols, disciplinary liabilities were imposed on commission chairpersons and secretaries,” Ketevan Bebiashvili said.
