Dismissal of Some Public Servants Demanded in Guria

January 16, 2014

Nino Mshvidobadze, Guria

Director of Lanchkhuti Valodia Tsuladze Cinema and Theatre Museum Maia Chkhaidze requests dismissal of those public servants who intimidated citizens due to their political affiliations before 2012 Parliamentary Elections.

“I do not request anybody’s imprisonment but they should at least be fired from jobs. When I applied to the regional governor with the request, he told me – we cannot punish 1,5 million people; they were victims of system. I argued with him. If we consider that all of them were system victims, only several senior officials will be held responsible for those violations of the past,” Maia Chkhaidze said and assumed that regional governor Giorgi Chkheidze is under influence of the members of the National Movement and suggests him to timely address the problem.

Regional governor Giorgi Chkhaidze denies somebody’s influence on him. “I understand that Maia Chkheidze requests dismissal of every person, who worked under previous government, but it is not acceptable for me. If somebody is not good professional or does not have relevant qualification, it is another issue. If somebody is guilty, there are institutions who should investigate and prove the offence. Until then, everybody is innocent.”
