About 29 000 farmers living in Gori district will receive aid for agricultural activities. The aid will be allocated for the owners of small plots. In the frame of the program of the Ministry of Agriculture, those farmers who own 25 sq. meters of plot, will receive plastic cards for 50 lari; they will use them in the agricultural shops. Those, who own more plots, will receive double 50 lari plastic card.

Vazha Bzishvili, farmer: “Last year, I received 100 lari; this year they said we will receive 25 lari because I have 25 sq. meters of land. I wished they had not reduced the aid. Last year we calculated the plot and even managed to purchase fertilizer and agriculture equipment. The new amount of money is not enough but despite that we feel attention and it is a stimulus for farmer.”

Agriculture development service representatives at the Gori district administration say verification of the lists of farmers is underway. Head of the service Giorgi Khidasheli said the lists were already checked and soon farmers will receive the aid.

About 800 000 farmers will involve the program of the Ministry of Culture. The program budget is 90 million lari.

Minister of Agriculture Lasha Pipia: “Last year, some people could not involve program. This year, we envisaged it and included all beneficiaries in the program. Every plot-owner will receive the aid.”
