Kutaisi Interim Mayor Restored to the Position

“I was and still occupy the position of the Kutaisi interim mayor. I continue activities for the welfare of this city,” interim mayor Shota Murgulia made statement after he was restored to the position.

Interim chairman of the city council Levan Kirkitadze annulled February 12 decree #152 of his predecessor Tamaz Margvelashvili and restored Murgulia to the position of the interim mayor.

Representatives of the legal service of the local self-government say everything was done in accordance to the law. Interim chairman of the city council had authority to issue new decree to restore Murgulia to the position of the interim mayor.
