Telavi to Elect Mayor for the First Time

On June 15, Telavi population will elect Mayor for the first time. Currently, only five candidates were registered for the upcoming elections. They are: Giorgi Mosiashvili, candidate of the Free Georgia – non-parliamentary opposition. From 2013 he was attorney of Old Telavi attorney.

Candidate from the National Movement Lekso Dzuliashvili worked in the law enforcement bodies during years. Since 2006 he was involved in political activities; he is member of the municipal board and deputy chairman of the board.

Businessman Tamaz Arjevanidze is candidate from Burjanadze – United Opposition. 

Lawyer Ketevan Zakariashvili will be candidate from the Labor Party.
Platon Kalmakhelidze will represent Georgian Dream at the local elections; he is manager of Beeline Telavi office.
 
Local elections will be held on June 15, 2014. Central Election Commission has already received decree from the president, which was approved by the Government of Georgia. 

71 municipal and city councils including 2 088 members, 12 mayors in self-governing cities and 59 district governors will be elected on June 15 in Georgia.
