Accused of Lasha Makharadze’s Murder Handed to Georgian Side in Ergneti

MIA arrested accused of Lasha Makharadze’s case. According to the MIA, they solved the murder case which occurred in Abashidze street, Tbilisi.

MIA spread official statement with regard to the fact: “The officers of Vake-Saburtalo police division of Tbilisi Police Main Division along with Shida Kartli Regional Main Division as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained previously convicted for premeditated murder Giorgi O. (DoB 1989) for murder under the aggravating sircumstances and illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearm.

Investigation established that late at night on September 2, detainee inflicted several wounds with a firearm to Lasha M. (DoB 1987) on Abashidze Street, Tbilisi and fled from the place of crime. The victim died after he was transferred to the hospital. Detainee attempted to penetrate on the territory of the occupied Tskhinvali region, in the moment of the attempt he was arrested by the De facto Tskhinvali government border guards for the so called illegal crossing of the border. As a result of joint activities of the relevant MIA agencies and EUMM the mentioned person was handed to the Georgian side in vicinities of Egrneti village.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of murder under the aggravating sircumstances and illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearm, article 109 and article 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia,” MIA statement reads.
