On July 28, there was a fire in the tourist complex “Gvirabi” in the “Wineri Khareba” of district Kvareli. According to the eyewitnesses, an alleged cause of the fire in the restaurant “Gvirabi” was fireworks shot in the air by the guests. No one was harmed during the fire. The staff and guests were evacuated on time from the complex.

Despite the fact that the fire was localized on time, it spread to the forest and dry grass was caught on fire.

According to the deputy governor of Kvareli municipality, Otar Bujiashvili, fire and rescue brigades came from all districts of Kakheti for firefighting.

“Here is a rocky hill, which helped us to extinguish the fire on time, but it went to the forest. However, fire-rescue brigades of Kakheti localized it on time. Only three hectares of territory was burnt, there is only grass and bushes; the forest was saved,” said the deputy governor.

The “Winert Khareba” does not confirm information about fire in the tourist complex “Gvirabi”. As PR manager of the “Winery Khareba”, Irina Machurashvili told to TV “Rustavi 2”, the fire started on the surrounding area and firefighters extinguished it on time.
