Gurjaani district population requests rehabilitation of the sport complex

Sport complex located in Vazisubani village, Gurjaani municipality has been in poor conditions for years. The two-storied building, which was used as a relax facility of sportsmen, is demolished. There is anti-sanitary in the yard of the sport complex.

“There is only one sport complex in Gurjaani district and it is also deconstructed. In 2010 Gurjaani municipality budget allocated 13 000 lari for its rehabilitation but that time village governor they could only roof one building of the complex. Nobody cares about the youth and their development; if they did, they would have reconstructed the complex long ago,” local Gia Solomnishvili said.

Head of Culture, Education, Monument Protection and Youth Affairs at the district administration Ekaterine Beroshvili said, their service cannot allocate funds for the rehabilitation. She said the municipal board is now discussing the next year budget but she does not know whether rehabilitation of the sport complex is envisaged in the budget.

Gurjaani district governor Gia Gergidze said their office did not consider this issue but promised to visit the complex and consider the funds for the rehabilitation in the new budget.
