Labor Contracts Will Be Suspended for One Part of Employees in Lagodekhi District Public Law Legal Entities

December 28, 2015

Lela Khechoshvili, Kakheti

Lagodekhi district majoritarian MP Giorgi Gozalishvili said about 50-70 employees of three public law legal entities – Culture Center, Union of Libraries and Tourism Promotion Center will leave jobs next year as a result of unification of all three entities.

“In the beginning of the last year the local authority increased the personnel in local public law legal entities and now they are reducing them. Last year they unified two entities though it did not reduce overall expenses. It is not correct to play with the people’s fate. Each of them will have serious problems after losing job,” Gozalishvili said.

According to him, he is ready to assist the dismissed people in the frame of his competence and apply to Human Rights Center for help too.
Director of the union of the public law legal entities Levan Kajaia said there were 145 employees in the three entities. The number was too high and large sums were allocated on the salaries of the employees from the local budget. Next year the number of the employees will be reduced.

Kajaia said on January 7 they will announce who will stay in the organization. He also added that Gozalishvili does not have correct information how many people will be dismissed next year because the union has not made decision yet.
