Local budget allocated 45 000 GEL to purchase vehicles for the chairman of the Telavi Municipal Board Archil Tkhlashadze and his deputy Gia Gigiashvili.

“My service car was amortized and my deputy did not have service car at all; he used his personal car for business purposes. So, the municipal board decided to allocate 45 000 lari to purchase cars for us,” the chairman of the Municipal Board said.

He clarified that the municipal board will announce tender in near future and everybody will be informed about it.

Deputy chairman Gia Gigiashvili said he needs a car to perform his duties properly. Until now, he used his own car for business purposes. “I have to visit agricultural lands quite often; also I have to inquire situation about commercial units so I need service car.”

Deputy of the Telavi Municipal Board Nikoloz Vardoshvili said it is unreasonable expenditure of budget funds. He said it is inadmissible to allocate more funds on the procurement of the vehicles for two senior officials than for the financial aid program for socially vulnerable population of the district.

“41 000 lari was allocated for the financial aid program for socially vulnerable citizens and 47 000 lari for the rehabilitation works of cultural heritage. In parallel to that, the municipal board intends to purchase expensive cars for the chairman and his deputy for 45 000 GEL,” Nikoloz Vardoshvili said.
