Gurjaani district deputy governor Elguja Giorgadze was sacked on May 23, Monday. According to Giorgadze, he had not received any information about being sacked. He is on sick-leave and the decision was made without warning. “Now I am in Tbilisi for medical analysis. When I arrive in Gurjaani, I will learn the truth.”

Gurjaani district governor Gia Gergidze said people are either hired or sacked during working process. He said the governor has right to make decisions individually.

Member of the Georgian Dream Tsitsino Gviniashvili said Elguja Giorgadze was fired for political reasons.

“He used to support the members of the United National Movement in the public agencies and fired members of the Georgian Dream. A month ago he was sent to an unpaid vacation and now the governor signed official order on his dismissal,” Gviniashvili said.
