On October 26, as a result of the scheduled meeting in the frame of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism, Ilia Takadze, resident of Kirbali village, who was arrested by the occupation regime soldiers several days ago, was freed from Tskhinvali detention setting. Russian soldiers arrested Ilia Takadze when he was collecting fire-wood in the forest. The family paid 2 000 Russian rubles as a fine.

“Russian soldiers arrested me; they initially took me to Ghromi village and then Tskhinvali militia office by car. I was freed after we paid the fine,” Ilia Takadze said.

At the 71st meeting of the IPRM in Ergneti, the representatives of the Georgian government spoke about the problems of the residents of the villages on the ABL; one of the major issues is illegal restriction of freedom of people.

The deputy director of the Information Analytic Center of the State Security Service Kakha Kemoklidze said they again requested freedom of Giorgi Giunashvili, who is in arbitrary detention in Tskhinvali prison.
“Four citizens of Georgia are still in Tskhinvali detention setting. We spoke about Giorgi Giunashvili at the meeting; until this problem is finally resolved, we will keep on discussing them during our meetings,” Kakha Kemoklidze said.

Head of the Ossetian delegation Davit Sanakoev said about the damaged banners installed alongside the s-called border; he also spoke about the Georgian citizens, who were arrested for illegal crossing of the so-called border.

“Part of 6 detainees was freed; the court is discussing others’ cases. As for Giunashvili, the investigation is still underway. His health conditions are satisfactory,” Sanakoev said.

Next meeting in the frame of the IPRM will be held on November 30 in Ergneti.
