In Gurjaani, 27-years-old G. Tsankashvili kidnapped the 24-years-old girl to get married with her. The incident happened in the evening of April 11. As witnesses told the ICK, the girl was leaving the sport complex in Gurjaani, when four men approached her and forcibly pushed her into the car.

Several days before, the girl applied to the police for help. As her friends said, the man, who wanted to marry the girl, was bothering her before the incident and threatened with kidnapping. The police did not react on the girl’s application.

The family members are still looking for the girl. The police is informed about the state number of the car but the law enforcement officers cannot find their location yet.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the investigation was launched under article 143 of the Criminal Code of Georgia – illegal restriction of freedom. The crime committed by a group of people is punished by imprisonment from 7 up to 10 years in length.
