On July 18, the employees of the Public Defender’s regional office in Gori found the office door broken.

“In the morning we found the door broken; one portative computer was taken from the office. We called the police, who conducted investigative activities on the place. We had stored dozens of cases in our computer, which our office studied. The materials contained personal information and their publication may harm the beneficiaries,” Dali Janiashvili said.

It is noteworthy that only one computer was stolen from the PDO office in Gori, while there was one more computer and fax in the office.

According to the press-service of the MIA, the investigation into the fact started under Article 117 Part II – b of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which is about thievery.

The PDO hopes the investigation will be impartial, effective and prompt.
