Investigation about the Mine Discovered in Gori Is Underway

On July 24, a local resident discovered an explosive mine nearby the Liakhvi River and reported law enforcement bodies about it. The police officers called deminers, who managed to demine the explosive mine. According to the preliminary information, the discovered mine is used for training purposes and it was rusty. However, the law enforcement officers cannot explain how the mine appeared in the embankment of the Liakhvi River.
 
According to the press-center of the MIA, the investigation was commenced under the Article 236 Part II of the Criminal Code of Georgia that refers to unlawful purchase or possession of firearms, ammunition, explosive substances or explosive equipments.
