Journalist Beaten in Ajara

Today, Vakhtang Komakhidze, a journalist for the TV Company “Rustavi 2”, was severely beaten in Ajara.

Komakhidze, noted for his appearances on the the programme “60 Minutes”, was injured by riot police in the Khelvachauri district of Adjara, after he had stopped his car at a check point at the request of law enforcement officials.

His assailants took his camera, as well as all the footage he had obtained in Batumi.
