Venice Commission Studies Constitutional Changes in Georgia

Strasbourg,

On March 12 and 13, 2004, the Council of Europe’s expert body on constitutional affairs, the European Commission for Democracy through Law (or “Venice Commission”), adopted an opinion on the recent changes to the Georgian constitution and will also hold an exchange of views with the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Nino Burjanadze, during its 58th plenary session in Venice this weekend.
