Demonstration Dispersed and Journalists Beaten in Ajara

Supporters of Aslan Abashidze dispersed a meeting of the opposition and physically abused journalists from the TV Company "Rustavi 2".

Yesterday, in Choloki, Abashidze's supporters physically assaulted journalist Maka Pankvelashvili and her cameraman, and broke their camera.

Later, Abashidze's supporters assaulted another journalist, Nestan Tsetskhladze, along with his cameraman.  The two were attacked as they took footage of the demonstration held by opposition supporters demanding new elections in Kobuleti. Abashidze's supporters also attacked numerous demonstrators. The attackers inflicted serious injuries upon several people.
