Changes on the First Channel

Changes on the First Channel

On June 4, the head of the Georgian broadcasting company Zaza Shengelia fired Zviad Koridze, the head of the news program “Moambe.” According to Koridze, the financial manager blamed him in spending money aimlessly.
Zviad Koridze came to the corporation three months ago and according to his plan, the news program “Moambe” would have to have a new format by September. Koridze believes that  Shengelia does not want to change the first channel into public television.
The staff of the First Channel called for Koridze’s immediate reinstatement or a presentation of the real reasons for his dismissal. They are ready to apply any form of protest.
