TV Company “Kavkasia” Blames the Government in Chase

“The Georgian government has decided to cancel the TV company “Kavkasia”. Using financial motivation and “Sakteleradio” they try to reach their aim”,- states Nino Jangirashvili, general director of “Kavkasia”. According to her, the Tbilisi office executive department of the Ministry of Justice attempted to seal off the TV Company, but “Kavkasia” showed them all t respective documents and they failed to execute.
“Currently the TV Company is opposed by “Sakteleradiocenter” to whom “Kavkasia” has to pay 20 000 Gel this year. It should be noted that such a debt is no anomalie among TV Comapanies. According to a specific agreement TV Company can pay the money before the end of the year”,- Jangirashvili says.
She mentioned as well that “Kavkasia” received a warning statement from “Sakteleradiocenter” on August 12 demanding the cancellation of broadcasting if the debt is not paid until August 16. This is one more political trick of the government against independent media,-thinks Jangirashvili.
