Prisoners Have Turned Out to Have Bodily Injuries

Members of the Zugdidi Branch of the Public Defender’s Office visited a few prisoners in  jail №4 of Zugdidi.

As reported by Media News from the Regional Branch the prisoners have turned out to have different kinds of bodily injuries, whichhad been inflicted during detention. According to the Zugdidi Branch of the Public Defender’s Office, 5 prisoners have been tortured: E. P., L. D., Z. K., G. K. and G. P.. The torture of the latter has been confirmed by expertise.

As the representative of the Branch stated a mediation will be launched addressing the General Prosecutor’s and Regional Prosecutor’s Offices, in order to bring a  criminal case against those persons who tortured the prisoners.
