“Reduction of Corruption Increased the Price on Bribe”

Tbilisi.27.09.04.Media-News. “Media-News” has questioned 300 respondents in Tbilisi regarding the anticorruption campaign that emerged after the “Rose Revolution” in Georgia. On the question- Has the corruption scales been reduced in Georgia?- 150 respondents’ response was positive, 108 – negative, but 42 respondents refused to answer.

The agency asked legal expert Vaxtang Khmaladze for the comment regarding the polling results.

“After paying money by the representatives of former govrnmet, blamed in corruption, the society considered that the level of corruption has been reduced, that’s why you got such a high percentage of the positive answers”,- stated Khmaladze.

He states as well that after the reorganization at police structure, corruption has been reduced, but it is the matter of time only. “Despite the fact that the facts of corruption have been reduced, the price on bribe has raised”,- the expert says.
