Public Defender didn’t Allow NGOs into the Hall

Tbilisi.29.09.04 Media-news. NGO “Society and Law” and “Community Union” are protesting the possible privatization of “Tbilgazi”. They had planned to hold the press conference about this issue in the public defender’s office, but they weren’t allowed in.

As Sozar Subari, Public Defender said that the above-mentioned NGOs wanted to hold press conference about “Tbilgazi”, but he knew nothing about it. Besides, this issue does not deal with the field of human rights and accordingly the office of public defender can’t let everyone have the hall.

According to the NGOs Tbilisi Premier has latent connections with the Ministry of Economy, namely it concerns the possible transmission of “Tbilgazi” stock package to the Ministry of Economy  that will create grounds for  including “Tbiligazi” in the privatization list and handing it over to “Gazprom”
