The Fire, spread on forests of Borjomi and Kharagauli, could not be localized

Tbilisi.30.09.04.Media-News. It has already been two days that the national forest and park of Borjomi-Kharagauli is on fire at the border of Kharagauli and Akhaltsikhe regions. Tamar Lebanidze, the Minister of Environment and Giorgi Imnadze, Deputy Minister of Environment visited the place.

According to the Deputy Minister, nearly 7-8 hectares of the forest is on fire and respective services of Adigeni, Borjomi and Akhaltsikhe, the residents from the local community and reservists are attempting to localize the fire.   

Imnadze stated that they don’t need additional forces from Tbilisi. Supposedly, the fire will be localized in two days. He considers speaking about damages inflicted by the fire too early.
