New Group of Russian Peacekeepers in Abkhazia


Tbilisi.24.11.04.Media News. The planned rotation of the CIS Peacekeepers battalion in the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict zone has been scheduled to take place from November 27 to December 1. The replacement of staff, including the handing over of military equipment will be held in the safe northern part of Gali Region.


The 558th battalion, which is currently dislocated near the village of Tchuburkhindji will be replaced by about 500 military men from the North Caucasus, who will come to Gali Region from the city of Maikopi.


Overall, there are 16 CIS peacekeeping posts spread over villages in Gali region.
