Market Traders Blocked Tamar Mepe Avenue

Tbilisi.08.12.04. Media News. Traders of the central supermarket of Tbilisi blocked Tamar Mepe Avenue demanding prohibition of street trading. The participants of the action state that there is no trading in the market due to the fact that street traders freely go on with their business on the nearby territory of the market. They demanded forcible driving out of the street traders.

Ramaz Sulamanidze, District Governor responded to the participants of the action and said that their demand is legal, although he does not consider it acceptable to use forcible methods in forestalling the street trading.

Governor of Didube-Chugureti District is going to take decisive measures against street traders from December 9, though he states that it is impossible to solve this problem only with the resources of his office. He plans to meet Zurab Chiaberashvili, City Mayor in order to solve the issue.
