Police Activity will be Monitored by Public Council

Tbilisi.21.12.04.Media News. On December 23 presentation of Public Council for Monitoring Police will be held in the Ministry of Interior.

Sozar Subaru, the Public Defender will officially hand over his representation authority to the persons who will be able to enter police pre-detention isolators and all the penitentiary facilities at any time in order to conduct monitoring.

The members of the Council will enjoy the mandate of Public Defender’s trust. The list of the members has been sent to the Ministry of Interior in advance, in order to allow for checking if these persons have ever been tried and if they have any relatives among the employees of the penitentiaries.

Vano Merabishvili, Minister of Interior and Zurab Adeishvili, Prosecutor General will attend the official presentation.
