Judge Wounded Chairperson of the Court

Tbilisi, 1/25/05, Media News. Zurab Rukhadze, Chairperson of the Tbilisi Gldani-Nadzaladevi District Court, was shot by his colleague, a judge of the same District Gaioz Sinjikashvili.

According to the eye-witnesses, Sinjikashvili was drunk and was threatening this colleagues with the gun. The Chairperson of the Court intervened to ease the situation and Gaioz Sinjikashvili shot and wounded him.

Zurab Rukhadze is in N8 hospital now; Gaioz Sinjikashcili is wanted by the police.

A criminal case has been brought by the Prosecutor’s Office of the District and an urgent investigation is being conducted.

News
