Union of Citizens’ Rights Founded

Tbilisi.22.04.05.Media News. A Union of Citizens’ Rights has been founded on the initiative of the Tbilisi City Council.

At the April 22 meeting, Sevdia Ugrekhelidze, the chairman of the Committee on Legal Issues and Human Rights submitted a project on the establishment of a Union that will defend citizens’ rights, ensure that law enforcers comply with detention laws, and prevent cases of torture.

The founders of this Union will be the Tbilisi City Council and the city government. They will collaborate with the Institute of State and Justice, Ivane Javakhishvili State University Sokhumi Branch, The High Court of France, the Institutional Attorney Association, and the non-governmental organization Tanadgoma.
