According to the victim, an unknown person attacked him when he was returning back home. The assailant hit him with a heavy object several times on his head.

According to the victim, the unknown person was beating him for two minutes, after which he disappeared from the place of incident.

The victim was taken immediately to the hospital. He was beaten and had hematoma. Gurjaani regional police investigation group is investigating the incident. The victim continues his treatment at home.

As the Akaki Sikharulidze, Gurjaani gamgebeli (local governor) said to the “Media News”, the investigation will clarify whether Mtivlishvili was beaten for his journalistic activities or not.
