The List of Prisoners for Granting Pardon was Submitted to President

Tbilisi.27.07.05. Media News. State Committee of Pardon submitted the list of 54 prisoners to the President Mikheil Saakashvili.

According to Elene Tevdoradze, the chairwoman of the Parliamentary Committee for Human Rights, the committee of Pardon studied the statements of about 600 prisoners and only 54 have been chosen.

As Tevdoradze says, the candidates for granting Pardon belong to the category, which are in the prison for the first time and at the same time they are not killers, recidivists or drug dealers.

There are two women among 54 candidate prisoners.
