Inhabitants of the Village Khviti Demand Freedom for Arrested Persons

According to information of the chief of the Equality and Freedom Department of the Ombudsman’s Office Beka Mindiashvili, 50 protesters broke into the building of TV Company “Trialeti” on the 21st of September. They demanded to free three persons, who were accused of beating up journalists working for the TV station. The correspondents of “Trialeti” were preparing a report about the inhabitants of Khviti, who were trying to illegally arrogate their neighbor’s harvest. The three men accused of battering the journalists were arrested. Police tried to dismiss the protesters for more than two hours. Representatives of the Ombudsman’s Office have already arrived in Gori.
