Ex Military Chiefs Sentenced to Prison

23/09/05 “Media News” - The Civil Court sentenced several ex-Military Chiefs to three months of preliminary imprisonment. The ex-chief of the Logistics Department Mamuka Lomsadze, the technical manager of the logistics department David Natroshvili and Vice-colonel Besarion Bukvaidze were arrested by the military police.

The men were working in the Logistics Department during Baramidze’s ministerial period. They are accused of buying useless military equipment from Ukraine. 7 million US Dollars was spent on this. Doubts arose last summer, when military exercise with this equipment started. The representatives of the government say that the state lost 595 thousand Georgian lari on this agreement.
