Inmates Finished their Protest

22/09/05, “Media News”-Two inmates of Zugdidi prison №4 of the Penitentiary Department of the Ministry of Justice - 39 year-old Gocha Siria and 56 year-old Edem Kharchilava -finished their protest. The decision was made after several meetings with lawyers. The prisoners protested against what in their eyes was an illegal arrest and went on hunger strike from the 2nd of September. Gocha Siria stood accused in a drugs case, while Edemi Kharchilava was arrested for illegal weapon ownership.
