Frontier Guards Accused of Protecting Smugglers

28/09/05 “Media News”- During an operation held by the Financial Police of Georgia, a criminal group was discovered near the Azerbaijan-Georgian border. The members of the group consisted mainly of the staff of the Frontier Guard and the Railway. According to the Financial Police, people were transferring contraband goods by train with the help of this group.

Two frontier guards were arrested. One of them resisted the police. He was wounded when the police opened fire at him. The health of the guard is stable.
