Abkhazs Free Kidnapped Georgian

06/10/05, “Media News” – The only issue discussed during the traditional four-party meeting in Chuburkhinji was that of a Georgian kidnapped in Abkhazia. According to the Georgian Military Observer in the Georgian-Abkhazian Conflict Zone Valery Japaridze, Giorgi Choloraia, who was kidnapped from the village Taligoni of the Gali Region on the 16th of September, has been released.

His family paid a ransom of 40.000 Georgian Lari. The Abkhazian side promised to investigate the case. Nevertheless, Japaridze says that Cholaria’s family does not trust the Gali Police Department, which is delaying the investigation process. The names of the kidnappers are still unknown.

As for the situation in the conflict zone, Japaridze says that no incidents have occurred last week.
